I bought this new battery when I came back from this most recent deployment. My old Optima battery was dying from all the sitting the car did while I was deployed. I even think that battery may have been part of what killed my last computer that had to be replaced. I dropped the little battery in tonight. The car fired right up and runs great. The battery weighs like half of what the old Optima one did and is smaller in size. I'm using their J-hook style tie down so it'll at least pass tech for the track and safely get this car on the road. They sell some fancy billet tie down kit but i don't need that. I might play around in the future and mount it a different way/different place. the posts can be threaded into the top or into sideways so the battery can fit all kinds of ways if you need. I utilized the original battery tray and fitted the hooks through it and secured the battery to it. It's in there very snug and not going anywhere. I had to place it in that location on the battery try because of the contours of it and how the tray sits on the sidewall. You can see by how it only fills part of the tray, how much smaller it is than the original battery. My optima battery was 38lbs, this battery is 17 lbs.

i dont know for sure but my last battery (optima brand) was 38 lbs. it dunno how much the ford motor craft one would weigh.
edit: i just read some where else that the optima red top battery like i used to have is closer to 40 lbs and the motorcraft one is closer to 38 lbs. so we could safely assume a regular battery is between 38-40 lbs. and this particular braille battery i have is 17 lbs that i have. i believe they make even smaller/lighter ones too. so by switching to one like mine, it ends up being a 21-23 lb savings and i dont even have the smallest/lightest one they make.

i got mine off jegs. they were slow getting it to me (fedex) and when i got it the battery tie-down kit was smashed to pieces with it's package cut into. i was pissed.

My only beef with Jegs is that they almost always charge shipping. So many other places will have similar or higher per-item prices but if you can find it with free shipping it can often be had cheaper overall.

i prefer summit over jegs because everything at summit is slightly cheaper if they have it but most of all because they use UPS as their shipper, not Fedex.
