Ceramic Brake Pads , Carbon, Metallic ???? What to use with Drilled and slotted rotors.

I have used Hawk Ferro Carbon in both the Mustang and GTO and they are the worst pads for duct I have ever seen. I am looking for something that will not dust up yet give me good performance.

Go with Ceramic brake pads, they are the best choice when looking to reduce brake dust. They are also good for performance because ceramic dissipates heat a lot faster than other materials

what ryan said.

ferro carbon is the worst in terms of dust and noise. those are supposed to be for strip/auto cross only if you have the HP plus ones.

get the hawk cermaic pads, thats what i went with. least amount of dust and the quietest with improvement over the stock pads. the ferro carbon will stop better but it isnt suited for a daily driver with minimal track use.

the rotors wont make a difference, drilled and slotted are for looks only as far as most of us are concerned.

LOL @ some stuff guys.

I have Ferro-Carbo Hawk pads. Almost no brake dust, compared to Ceramic, little bit more bite, and NO NOISE. They are also cheaper than ceramic.

Ceramic will probably last a bit longer, as they are friendlier on rotors. By no means are the Ferro-Carbon rough on rotors. I've had them on for almost 10K miles, and my rotors still look new, and I barely have to clean my wheels once every two weeks due to minimal brake dust.

Either choice is good John. I just wanted to point out that I am versed and experienced in both style pads, and can tell you what they can and will do.

ferro carbon (as far as the HP plus) are harder on rotors than ceramic by nature. i dont know what pads john had to begin with, but im not sure what part of my post was funny or incorrect in any way.

i dont need to use something to state a universal fact about it. cermaic are always quieter and produce less dust than ferro carbon, thats all i was saying.

All I was pointing out was I went from Ceramic from my original pads on my Cobra, and they were noisier than my Ferro carbon and produced more brake dust.

The GT also has ceramic, and squeak more than the Cobra's brakes, and produce more brake dust. That's all.
