Yep. Been busy as all hell with this uverse. Love that OT! Where are you at now? Mundelein?

No I'm in Woodstock at the CO. Finally after 18yrs I'm 5 min from Work. I just got the Uverse a few weeks ago. It's great!

My brother-in-law is a splicer in Dundee. He said this will be the 2nd year he made over 100k with all the OT. If my legs had not been messed up in a car wreck a few 10 years ago I'd still be craft myself making the big bucks.

I've been looking at pics of your car over the last few years it's pretty sweet. Are you running the new FAST XFI system or the older FAST? I had the older FAST in my car when it went 8.04@171. I've been thinking about changing over to the XFI or BS3.

I hit 6 figures for the first time this year. Too bad I am paying 2 mortgages (can't sell my old house), as I'd actually have money this year.

Thanks for the compliments on the car. I built it for true street, but once I was done (if that's possible) my interests went in a different direction. Now the money and time go to the 40 year old house on the Chain. I can't afford to race the car, because if it breaks....that's it for a while!

I have the older FAST system in the car. Now that the car is a street car, I've actually been thinking of slowing it down a little to make it more streetable. Not sure yet. Can't do anything til I sell my old house or at least rent it out.

I hear ya on selling the house. I had mine up for 2 years before it sold 3 months ago. Now I get to live in an APT until the new house is built. :wall:

I bought a fixer upper 26 months ago and moved into it 9 months after purchase. I beg, borrowed and stole to remodel the new house (oak floors, cabinets, new electric, trayed the ceilings, all new appliances, water softners, jaccuzi tub surrounded in slate) and thought that by selling the first house, I could pay for everything.

Problem...House hasn't sold. Now I get to pay the loans, credit cards and two mortgages!! A financial genius, I'm not.

WOW! I'm sure in the long run it'll pay off. I bought my land (2 acres) 2+ years ago thinking my house would sell quick and I'd build even quicker......WELL turns out I was lucky enough to pay Land tax on 2 property's for 2 years plus I was so sure I'd sell quickly I put half my junk in storage so I paid storage fee's for 2 years. Now I'm in this apt paying 1k a month and every day this weather sucks it keeps me in the APT even longer.

I'm sure the biggest kick in the balls will come when I get all moved in to the new house 5min from work and they move me East to Hoffman or god knows where.

You know that will happen! Our company is funny that way.

I bought an acre lot over 5 years ago to build a huge house with a four car garage, but there was no city sewer. I was told by the Lakes region sanit. district that they would be putting in sewer the following year. I decided to wait to build, because I didn't want to blow 14 grand on a septic system for one year. Next year came, and they didn't have the funding. One more year. That year came, and went.

I decided to buy a house on the chain (the one I'm in now) and not wait anymore. The freakin day I close on the house, I get a letter that says they will be putting the sewer in. I couldn't believe it. The only thing that makes it worth it, is the sunsets on the lake. I can see my boat in my boat slip from my kitchen window, and I don't have lake taxes.

Once this market gets a little better, I'll sell the old house and my acre, and I'll be doing much better. Until then, I'll just have to be an overtime whore while it's there, and make all those freakin' payments every month.

At least you have the OT option. Being on salary sucks.

Bluenoser
12-10-2008, 11:44 PM
:023:But you get those huge bonuses!

Postman
12-11-2008, 08:22 AM
The bonus is handed out quarterly now so it does not seem so big. With it being quarterly it's even more like a fixed income. Back in the day if you needed more cash you just worked a few Saturdays or did the 3 and a meal thing.

The dyno biz helps out. These days I have more work than I can keep up with. The winter months are the best for the biz because it slows down to a steady pace instead of the go go go go I have to deal with thru the summer.

LOL I guess I could always park my Mustang and most of my problems would be solved ha ha. Umm I don't thinks so. 2009 should be the summer of my 1st 7 second pass. Once I get a few of those under my belt maybe 2010 will be different...

Hoping the best for your goal. I unfortunatly was able to shelve the racing. Haven't been down the track in almost 6 years. No time or extra money. Maybe one of these days.

Wow 6 years... Man I quit in 2006 and was beside myself the whole summer. 2007 I slowly got back into it and 2008 I did even more. I'm not sure what's going to happen for 2009. My car will be very competitive in the NMCA XS class with the new Vortech Xi supercharger but that's allot of time running all over the country. The 7.70 TSDRA class looks cool but I'm a little shakey going that fast at the grove on stock suspention. I'd run the 8.20 class but slowing down just doesn't seem right. Plus I've got 2 great kids that need alot of my time so maybe I'll be shelving alittle drag racing time myself.

I ran NMRA Renegade 2000 thru 2005. I was the champ in 2001 and runner up in 2002. I took 2006 off from racing and slowly got back into it in 2007 running NMCA XS. 2007 I ran 4 XS races and 2008 I only ran 2 NMCA races as I was in the middle of selling my house.

Who are your friends in XS?

Bob is the sole driver of the Sutton car unless things have changed since summer. If Bob goes back to his 90 gt then Swill will be out of a car. Wow this could get interesting
