I really loved Chris's March Pulley Kit for the SN95 Mustangs, really bling up the engine bay!
Alias, March doesn't make a pulley kit for the S197 4.0 V6's....chrome pulleys would made my engine bay "POP!"
So, today, I decided to try to Chrome paint my black and rusty pulleys.
I painted the really rusty bottom pulleys black again but the top pulleys for the air pump, alternator and idler pully with chrome spray paint.
The results were okay, not as good as chrome, but there better than they were.
Here's a few pics....

Tommarrow I'll be detailing the rest of the engine bay, it's kind of dusty and lackluster.

I also need to do something with those rusty headers!!! UG!!!

If anybody finds aftermarket chrome pulleys for the 4.0 V6, send or post me a link...thanks in advance!

Just a reminder, Ford recommends to change your serpantine belt every 30,000 miles...mine looks a little glazed but no cracks in the ribs!
I checked a few parts stores for pricing and was happy to find my local Ford dealer has the least costly belt! $27 US!!! I'll be picking up on Monday!

Andy I wish I was even an eighth as creative as you! Lol
They still look nice even though chrome spray paint usually doesn't come out looking like true chrome.
I've heard there's places that re-coat rims to make them chrome.. Maybe a company like that could chrome them for you?

All that comes together to really improve the overall engine compartment.
I know JBA makes an emissions legal CARB numbered set of shorty headers for the 4.0 V6's. They make their headers in stainless steel, silver ceramic and titanium ceramic. That might help clean up that area you were talking about and still be emissions friendly.
I guess other than that, a set of aftermarket valve covers to painting the stock ones grabber orange would be my next idea. Maybe get them powder coated grabber orange somehow to get that textured surface like the 4v 4.6 valve covers but in grabber orange.

Andy I wished I had known that you were thinking about this. Check this video out. It's amazing stuff.

I am completely AMAZED at that video! That process is AWESOME! If I had the ability, I would be using that process on EVERYTHING! And, I do mean EVERYTHING!!! I am just a little curious how durable it is...but still amazing.

Looks great, did you pull off the pulleys before painting?

No Brian, I just pulled off the belt since I was replacing it anyway.
I covered the area very well then used spray chrome paint.
For the bottom pulleys, I painted them rustolum black with a paint brush, just masking off the inner grooves with painters tape.
Them pulleys get rusty after a couple years!
