In honor of President Lincoln's 200th birthday, I, being the curious one did a little digging. As a child, I distinctly remembered hearing that Lincoln's coffin had been dug up...and like I was freaked. I think that's why I remember it now. So I googled and found some interesting history including the one photo that exists today..Lincoln in his open coffin.

Did you know there is not one living descendant of Abraham Lincoln..the line died off..how awful to have lived and left no one. Anyway...love history and this was a fun evening.. lots of cool things here. I wanna go to Springfield and see Lincolns Tomb.

God you have time to look at the site? See the pic of Lincoln in the coffin?? I think it was on the next link.. He was getting ripe and they'd put chalk on him to make him look better... Fascinating stuff. Have you or anyone been to Lincolns Tomb in Springfield? I do want to go this Summer...road trip!

This is the year to go to Springfield as they have a ton of stuff planned for Abe's 200th B-day. And the new AL Museum is a MUST! I'll be going again this Spring as it's a great place to take the family and it's cheaper than going to Chicago. Worth the road trip! :023:
