Harmony Universal remote control

OK, this thing is suposed to be able to control all of my house AV equipment. I've had people I work with tell me the thing is awesome.

I tried setting mine up today and it won't even turn on the darned TV.

Anyone else out there try one of these things?:100:

Ok, I figured it out.

I'd like to say it was jut me being technically challenged but really the instructions blow. The model I bought came with the universal remote and another small box called an IR extender. The instructions did not come out and say the IR extender was necessary and I guess I assumed it was only needed for older equipment not supported by Harmony.

In reality, the IR extender was necessary to set up as well and once I plugger that in everything seems to work like a charm. Now I can put the 5 other remotes away and just keep one out.

Hopefully, my 7 mo old Rottweiler puppy won't think the Harmony remote is a good chew toy!
