WCS Official Poker Run Prelim Thread

What:
Poker Run - 5 locations including start and finish get a poker card at each, and at the end the best poker hand will get a prize
(over $100 in prizes to be given out)

When:
Official Date July 12th 2009

Where:
Start - Gurnee Mills
1st Stop - Volo Auto Museum
2nd Stop - Hooters Crystal Lake (Lunch)
3rd Stop - Barrington Road Pond Forest Preserve
End - Gameworks Schaumburg

Who:
Everyone possible

Ok I am scheduling a poker run for the members of WCS. I did one with my other site a couple years ago and it was a pretty big success.
Its not a race, just a cruise with multiple stops, and a random route that may not be the most direct route, but should be a good cruise.

As far as a date im thinking May 9,10,15, or 16
Last year around the 15th was world street challenge and I know some go to that, but I can't find any reference on the web that it even exists anymore both worldstreetchallenge and worldfordchallenge websites are no longer, so let me know what you think as far as a date

Mothers day is on the 10th, may be a problem for some mothers.
Armed Forces day is the 16th...FYI.

So, I've been curious, is that 150 on the speedo in your sig yours and, if so, was that on a track, on the streets or just on a dyno?

CLMC appears to be scheduling the big meet they have every year, it looks like they may schedule the same data we have planned for this, so I may push it off since we are the new startup and I know many people would rather go there possibly, since it is alot more people who show up.

I'll keep this thread updated with info. We do need alot more people for the cruise though so keep spreading the word about the poker run and get people to come. :poke:

Thinking of postponing this till a little later in the season, the carshow is scheduled for right around the same time. So my thoughts were to try and spread events out a little more, plus after a bit of carshows and promotions we could have more members, and a bigger cruise.

What are your thoughts, and if yea what would be your recommendation on when?

Couldn't we do it earlier, like in April? it looks like there was only 1 outdoor venue, and if we did it like April 19th or 26th might we have somewhat warm weather?

okay, since the Season Opener BBQ is April 19th, maybe we should push this back to the first or second weekend in June?

First weekend would be right after the WCS car show, so maybe the 2nd weekend...on a Sunday?

Now that the carshow is over and done, I'm looking to get this going. June 20th is the most popular date, but it's also the date of Zion Nostalgia Days and I know some will want to go to that. So I would like to do it around the end of June possibly, what are everyones thoughts?
