Despite the rain we had a great time at Shelby Fest, and I put over 800 miles on my Mustang (her maiden voyage).
I hope next year we can get more members to take the trip to the town of Hermann, it's like Mayberry, and the people are so friendly...good times!

Thanks to Steve and Liz (Show Car Detail) for leading the way on the open road.

Great photos

Did you meet Clint and Mike the Retrobuilt guys who built the Red, the White and the Blue Mustangs?

Mary and I had breakfast with them Saturday morning. They are a father and son team. Good guys

Whoa. What's the story behind the retro rebuilds? I had to do a double take there because it looked like an s197 with certain cues from the early 70's. Then I looked again and they look like S197's with 70's style body parts. Looks like they have custom body panels altogether. Is that offered as a kit or are those actual reproduction late 60's/early 70's bonded to s197 panels? That is very cool. I really like that generation of mustang they depict with those retro rebuild cars.

I was thinking the same thing, sort of reminds me of the retro vette body kit they sell for the new vettes

once i realized what it was, i started to think of those body coversion kits that came out for the 99-04 cars right when the 05+ mustang came out to make the 99-04 look more like an 05+ stang.
In this case though, the body panels look like they fit way better and come a lot closer to fitting the lines and proportions of the car. Although it still looks slightly off, that's not a very bad job considering especially if those panels are being mass produced through an aftermarket company.
