C/S bumper help

I am not having any luck with this bumper....Ok I finally get the rear bumper today and it has this awful textured finish all over the bottom! Now every C/S I have ever seen is all smooth. The parts dept really hasn't been to helpful, so my body shop is calling his Ford parts guy. BUT

C/S people- is it just possible they changed this bumper from the original textured finish to all SMOOTH finish in 07??? I'm thinking thats the problem Help?

Shar, are you talking about the bottom plastic piece?....mine is an 08, an it does have a little texture to it.

I'm talking about the sides of the bumper by the side marker lights down. Yeah the back ground effect should be that textured back but not the botton sides right? Those should be smooth on your car

Okay sorry..here's another pic....By the side markers, Yes it's smooth, but the very lower part is NOT smooth as the painted surface.

Curious... got a picture of te part you ended up with?

No its at the shop...I think I saw pics on line of a Carol Shelby bumper GT500 that had that texture all around it...C/S....could be an error
So like below the side marker lights, texture starts about there on down to the bottom. not at all doable.

I am looking at a CS right now and there is a slight texture to the very bottom of this bumper. It isn't totally smooth like above. So now I have to see what we'll do. Painter doesn't want to put it on the car. But personally ion this white CS difficult to see any difference

Car goes in for paint tomorrow and should be ready FRIDAY! Next stop will be Riggs Bros to check
the vert top frame damage. Will this ever be done? :) Gettin' there!

I will be thrilled not to look at that dented peeling bumper anymore! Kinda sorry I waited thro the Winter, but better than getting stuck having to drive it in snow! I just hope the top is very minor damage and REALLY hope that lightbar still works!
