I really want to get the site up on the new version; however, it appears that some of the mods still have no ETA. So I have made a decision to upgrade without them. The upgrade itself will be a major change to the look and feel of the site, and losing these modifications will also effect user experience. The loss of these mods is hopefully temporary and the developers are working on updates. So I suspect that within a few months we will be back to normal.

Mods we are losing (temporarily)
-ChatBox -NO ETA on a new version
-Garage - Q1 or Q2 2010
I will possibly be purchasing the full version which will allow for multiple cars. Hopefully even though this mod will be disabled no one will lose thier garage information and have to re-enter it when the new version is available, but I can't be positive. So you may wish to copy what you have and save it for future use just in case.
-Ability to see all user photo albums - NO ETA on a new version
-Donate - there will be a way to donate but it wont be the same

All other mods will remain but may be slightly different until they are fully implimented such as the random photos will be on the bottom of the forum until the developer fixs that. You will also have to re-do your mood, but thats not a big deal.

This is a pretty big undertaking for the site and has been in the works for 2 months now.

I do want to thank all members who have donated and our sponsors whom without all of you this upgrade might never happen. The software alone for the upgrade was almost $300 and I want everyone to be aware that the funds we get from our sponsors and donations do 100% go to the costs of maintaining the website and our events, they do not go to new parts for my car, but I wish they did I'd have a much faster car, hehe. So if anyone wants to donate to my car fund thats a seperate donation you can pm me, lol

So please be prepared for the upgrade and cross your fingers that everything goes smooth. I still am not sure when I'm going to do it, I am going to do some testing on the development site first to see how it goes. If that goes well the upgrade may happen this coming weekend.

I just finished performing a test upgrade, and everything went well.
Just to run through the basic upgrade process took about an hour.

So running a full backup of the site and database then doing the upgrade and adding things back in as well as tweaking new settings I am going to aproximate the site will be down for 4-5 hours while I perform the upgrade.

So as of right now I'm going to schedule the upgrade for Sunday night at 5pm So expect WCS to be unavailable Sunday 1-24 5pm - 10pm CST

in prep for the site upgrade I just did some server optimization that I'm a little unsure of...yea don't you love that term. It should increase speed, so let me know if you see anything strange though prior to the upgrade

Its not cheap and if your site has mods, all previous mods are incompatible. So I've looked into starting to code some of my own, but my PHP is rusty, lol

yea heavily modded people have been waiting and having alot of issues from what I read. most sites run vbadvanced which I think isn't released yet, from checking out your site it looks like you run that too.
