So i was on my way home from picking Alec up at the bus stop, When i was making a stop my car slide into the rear end of a lexus suv. Alec and I are ok, Mustang not so good. The is a 15" hole in my front bumper due to the hitch this guy had on his SUV. Who in the hell puts a hitch on a lexus. What is really upsetting is that i was 3 block from home, 3 blocks from putting the mustang in the Garage for the winter.I picked up a 2000 monte carlo for the winter for $800. Now i have to look at Eleanor everyday and see the damage i did.URRR i so pissed right now.

Sorry to here about your accident Javier.
You have just experienced my nightmare.
I think about this scenero often and sometimes I think I'm too cautious.
It so easy to get distracted with todays fast paced society.
Sometimes you just have to let the chips fall where they may.
It happens to all of us in one form or another.
The good news is you and Alec were not hurt.
...and you will have a freshly painted and chip free bumper ready for next season.

:ohsnap:

Sorry to hear about that, Javier! Maybe the protruding hitch stopped your car far enough away to prevent additional damage to the grill, hood, etc. even if it did totally screw up the bumper.

sorry man, that sucks. I don't think it was his driving, this cool and wet weather is making this summer tires very slippery. I've always wounder, how could it be legal to leave a hitch on a car when it not towing anything. So a hitch is on a back of a vehicle and it stick out of the bumper a good 6" or so. Something happens and I hit the back of this vehicle at 5mph(the speed at which most bumper are suppose to take hits with out damage). Instead of 0 damage, the hitch pierced my bumper cover and support bracket and maybe my radiator and with out damaging the vehicle with the hitch. this is okay??

Sorry to hear. I know what you are going threw, two years ago I took my girls with me for lunch with their mother when this kid turns a company van into my passenger door and all the way to the rear bumper. 6,500 hundred dollars worth the work. I think the body shop did a great job and no one has ever asked if it was hit.My car is also black. So keep your head up and be happy everyone is ok.

That sucks man.

Did the guy make a dick move causing you to hit him? What happened exactly?

Also, are you going to get it fixed before winter really starts, or wait until spring?

Sorry to hear. It will work out.

i chipped my hood a couple weeks ago driving my car onto some blocks so i could get the jack under the front. whole car slid forward with the tires on the blocks just far enough to tap a metal table in front of it. and it was all just for the sake of installing some damn fog light wiring. at least my hood had to come off anyways to get the underside midified to fit the intake. but i hate stupid crap like this too.

The kid started to slow down then basicall slamed the brakes to not go past the white lines in front of fire station. I was slowing down then when i had to slam mine i slide about 10-15ft right into him.the cold and wet road along with the painted stripe on the road just caused me to slide into him

I'm sorry Javi!

It'll all be okay though. And you guys aren't hurt so thats good.

Now what you do is take a metal baseball bat to said lexus and rip the hitch off. :)

Oh Javi, So sorry to hear that.....
This is the time of year that the Deer are in rut,(Running around crazy, Looking to mate) so everyone be careful on those country roads....This time was when we hit a deer with the Stealth, and it was $6000. worth of damage, Insurance should have just totalled it, cause that car was never the same....
Glad you and Alec are fine.
Take Care.

Glad to hear that you and Alec were ok. As much as any damage to the Pony sucks, it could have been worse.

And all of you....lighten up on the Lexus SUV's will ya. I drive a GX470 when I'm not driving the Mustang. And yes, I have a trailer hitch on it from when I used to tow our 23' Powerboat. Three rows of seats to take the whole family to the lake and pull a 5,000lb boat like it's not even there. Try doing that with your minivan.
